Smart universal meter by STHOR, symbol 81772, with TRUE RMS function and automatic range for each measurement. The meter will not only automatically select the measurement range, but will also independently determine whether we are currently measuring resistance, circuit continuity, direct or alternating current voltage. This makes the meter very easy to use. In standard meters, before the measurement, we must set the appropriate measurement range and measurement type ourselves. In this meter, after turning it on, you just need to place the measuring probes, e.g. on the battery poles, and then read the result.

Measurement accuracy

An example of determining accuracy for measuring AC voltage. Calculations for the measurement result: 235V

measurement accuracy of the 81772 meter for this range is: ±(1.0% + 3), resolution 0.1V
Measurement error calculation formula: (measurement result x 1.0%) + 3 x resolution
calculations: (235 x 1.0%) + 3 x 0.1 = 2.35 + 0.3 = 2.65V
The actual result taking into account the measurement error for the indication 235V = 235 ± 2.65V

Built-in features

TRUE RMS - a meter with this function calculates the real effective value of alternating voltage and current for both sinusoidal and non-sinusoidal waveforms. The device first measures the actual value of the sine wave at several time intervals → then squares the measurement results → sums them → calculates the average → and finally squares the average result. The measurement result is the real effective value of alternating voltage/current, even for a deformed sine wave or square wave;
NCV - non-contact detection of alternating voltage using the inductive method. The meter detects the presence of voltage in the insulated wire using the NCV sensor on the front of the device;
AUTO - automatic adjustment of the measurement range. When measuring unknown values using a meter with a manual range change using a knob, measurements should be performed sequentially from the largest range to the range giving the most accurate result - otherwise you risk damaging the device. However, in the case of a multimeter with the AUTO function, it is enough to perform one measurement and the meter will automatically find the optimal range;
SMART - automatic recognition of the measurement type. The meter will recognize itself whether we are measuring direct or alternating current voltage. If no voltage is present, the meter automatically switches to circuit resistance measurement mode;
DATA HOLD - keeping the currently measured value on the display.
